July 07 Line of the weekMissouri Republican State Representative Cynthia Davis, when commented on a program that provides food during the summer for low-income children, said "Hunger can be a positive motivator." When people like her and Ann Coulter keep spitting out things like this, you have to be wondering: is she saying such things simply for publicity, or is she serious? If it's the former, we'll need to ask the question: why should we take anything she says seriously? But if it's the latter, we would be even more bothered by the question: how the hell did such person get into the seat of a state representative? What is wrong with America? July 05 From Mile High to Sin City - 11 Antelope Canyon 羚羊谷上一篇的照片怕是有人看不出个名堂。 这也不奇怪，那一组的用意就是抽象的线条、色彩与光线的转换。  这一篇算是补充说明。 羚羊谷在Arizona的Page市以南，分地上（Upper）地下（Lower）两处，一左一右被高速隔开，其中以Upper Canyon最为出名，游客也最多。羚羊谷号称是Photographer's heaven, 到那里数数佳能的红圈L头就知道。 羚羊谷和丰碑谷一样都属于那瓦霍印第安人的地盘， 交了钱与一干人跳上皮卡改装的车子， 在沙漠里跟坐过山车似的好一通颠簸。 Upper canyon 里面的景象实在可用魔幻来形容， 虽然游客很多，拍照就跟打仗似的要抢时间抢位置， 但心里仍是充满赞叹， 大自然用时间、水流、沙石与光线创作的交响曲是如此美妙， 你完全可以听得见旋律在石头的纹路上流淌。 Upper Canyon的另一个噱头便是正午时候阳光透过岩石缝隙投下的光柱。      在峡谷里拍摄是我“从影”以来遇到的最具挑战性的一次。峡谷里很窄，许多地方只能容一人通过，而游客又多， 大多数地方光线非常暗，阳光可以透下来的地方又过亮， 场景曝光范围很大，所以往往需要在极短的时间内决定取景， 抢到合适位置，架好三脚架，调整构图，决定正确曝光， 这一切都需要在几十秒内完成。动作稍慢， 就有可能有游客或其他摄影师进入你的取景框， 带队的向导一催，就根本别想再拍了。 |
